Healthy Filipino Sour Fish Soup (Sinigang na Bangus)

Prep time: 25 mins Cook time: 30 mins Ingredient: 1 large bangus or milkfish cleaned and sliced 4 pcs fresh tomatoes quartered 2 tbsp soybeans (miso) paste 1 medium red onion sliced 6 pieces garlic minced 2 inches ginger sliced 1 pack 1.4 oz tamarind soup mix 2 1/2 tbsp fish sauce 2 pieces green chili (siling pansigang) 2 tbsp oil 6 cups water 1 bunch green pechay 1 small pieces white radish slice into 1/4 inch 2 stalk celery sliced into 1 inch Salt to taste (optional) Preparation: 1. Smash, peel and minced garlic. 2. Peel and sliced the ginger thinly. 3. Peel and sliced onion into cubes. 4. Slice celery stalk for about 1 inch thick. 5. Slice tomato to quarter 6. Peel and sliced white radish about 1/4 inch thick 7. Clean and slice green pechay. 8. Clean and slice milkfish. Sprinkle with salt. Cooking: 1. Heat up pan with vegetable oil to high level and fry sliced milkfish until slightly brown each side or 3- 5 minutes each side. Set Aside. 2. Heat up pot with oil, sauté onion until slightly brown, add ginger, garlic stir and add celery and tomatoes. 3. Add soybean paste and fish sauce. Stir and add 6 cups of water. Boil for about 5 minutes. 4. Add radish and tamarind mix. Cover and simmer again for another 5 minutes. 5. Add green chili and fried milk fish. Simmer for another 10 minutes. 6. Add green pechay and salt to taste. Cover and serve hot. Enjoy! Note: All times are approximations. Adjust flavors by increasing/decreasing amounts of ingredients.
